Like many of you, I knew Pete Hegseth was unqualified to be our nation’s top military leader. I called for the Senate not to confirm him as Defense Secretary and even asked you to sign a petition to show how much opposition there was to his nomination. We almost did it – Vice President Vance had to break the tie vote.
|
But even I was shocked by the news of a Signal group chat of our nation’s intelligence officials discussing classified plans for U.S. military action in Yemen. Since then, it’s been one lie after another from the Trump Administration.

I spoke with CNN this morning and will keep pushing on all the news shows that will have me. As an Air Force veteran and a member of the House Intelligence Committee, I understand – to my core – how reckless and dangerous this behavior is.

I’m fighting for an investigation, but we don’t need one to know that people should be fired. After committing a mistake like this, one that put the lives of the men and women carrying out the military strikes at risk, Secretary Hegseth should step down.

Will you help me keep pressure on the administration? Not let them hunker down until this news cycle blows over? Help me hold them accountable? You can use your voice online, in letters to the editor, in marches and rallies, by calling your U.S. Senators, and by calling the White House.
