John,

This is deeply unserious.

Republicans just name-dropped our organization in a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing — attempting to paint us as key figures of a left-wing “censorship industrial complex” because of our work to hold Big Tech accountable and combat dangerous disinformation and hatred online.

We know we are facing attacks in our nation’s highest halls of power because our work threatens the status quo. We are determined to keep winning, but we are facing unprecedented challenges to our work as a target of the second Trump administration and its allies. Will you show your support with a contribution of $25 or more to ensure we have the resources to fend off right-wing efforts to derail our work and fuel our campaigns for justice?

This is far from the first time that we’ve faced right-wing backlash — or been forced to defend our organization and our work against conspiracy theories.

In addition to facing previous attacks from Donald Trump himself, we’ve been a target of neo-segregationist Stephen Miller and his right-wing group America First Legal because of our work to demand district attorneys ensure that no one is above the law and equally prosecute the rich and the powerful. With Miller serving as Trump’s deputy chief of staff for policy, we knew that we would likely be under intense scrutiny from day one of the second Trump administration.

Under Trump’s first administration, racial justice groups like Color Of Change were labeled as “Black Identity Extremist” organizations. Now at the start of his second administration, Trump wields even greater power to silence those who oppose him and has been further emboldened to wage war against those advocating for diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Our work will always face resistance from those who actively benefit from the oppressive systems and structures that we seek to change. We push prosecutors to use their power for racial justice and to hold police accountable. We go after Big Tech corporations that allow hate speech on their social media platforms, and we take on the credit card companies that process their payments. We call out the top neo-segregationists working to dismantle our nation’s racial justice infrastructure and bedrock civil rights laws and their corporate donors.

We will never back down, but we need all hands on deck right now. It’s always important for us to reach our monthly fundraising goals to fuel our campaigns for justice. But after the right-wing attacks we’ve faced in the first three months of this administration, this benchmark is especially critical. Pitch in to our end-of-month fundraising goal so that we can continue to defend our organization and protect our communities from harm!

We won’t let this moment distract us from the work we have ahead of us. We thank you for your support to ensure that we can keep moving forward.

Until Justice Is Real,

Color Of Change
