*Governor Gordon Provides Strong Support for Nesvik Nomination as USFWS Chief*

WASHINGTON, DC . – Governor Mark Gordon enthusiastically endorsed Brian Nesvik, former director of the Wyoming Game and Fish Department, to serve as Director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service during a *confirmation hearing* [ [link removed] ] in Washington D.C. today. During his introduction before the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works (EPW), Governor Gordon called Nesvik a strong leader whose on-the-ground experience and ability to build bipartisan relationships results in sound, durable policymaking.

“Brian's real-world and on-the-ground experience managing Wyoming's 800 species of fish and wildlife made him an outstanding Director of our Game and Fish and will be a tremendous asset to the Trump Administration and our country,” Governor Gordon said.

The Governor, joined by Wyoming Senators John Barrasso and EPW committee member Cynthia Lummis, highlighted Nesvik’s leadership in Wyoming’s successful efforts to recover grizzly bears and gray wolves, as well as work to keep the state’s waters free of aquatic invasive species. Nesvik oversaw the development of Wyoming Chronic Wasting Disease management plan as well as the preservation of migration routes for big game

“Put simply, Brian has a great appreciation and respect for wildlife, the people who manage our fish and game and those private landowners who provide habitat crucial to our flora and fauna,” the Governor said. “His confirmation will be the nation's gain and a win for all states.”
