This weekend, the Innocence Project will celebrate our birthday in the same way we’ve spent the last 27 years—fighting for the innocent.
We’ve set a goal of raising $40,000 for our Exoneree Fund, and 100% of donations will help cover the costs of a safe place to live and other basic resources for our clients as they rebuild their lives.

Contributions to the Exoneree Fund will give our clients the ability to buy their own clothes for the first time in years, set up their first cell phone, and get the medical care they’ve gone without for so long. These things are the first step to our clients establishing their own lives again after wrongful conviction, and it means so much.
Started in 1992 as a legal clinic at Cardozo School of Law, the Innocence Project is now an independent nonprofit, affiliated with Cardozo, that exonerates the wrongly convicted through DNA testing and reforms the criminal justice system to prevent future injustice. www.innocenceproject.org
