After a heated exchange of letters between Barnier and UK dealmaker David Frost, both sides recognise a stalemate is becoming likely. Little progress has been seen on sticking points like fishing.

The Government is digging in it’s heels and refusing to consider extending the transition period to help talks. 

But across the UK, there is a majority in favour of extension. We must show our MPs, no matter their party, no matter the Government line, they can stand up for what’s right for the UK, and that they have our support. 

This week, the Financial Times warned medicine reserved by the NHS in case of no deal have been depleted by the pandemic. It’s a story we’ve seen repeated from businesses and local services across the UK - time and resources set aside for no deal used up in fighting COVID-19. 

Nobody wants a no deal; not the public, not British businesses, not the NHS. But with so little progress made in the trade talks, that’s exactly what we’ll get this December if we don’t secure an extension.
