Last week, we shared an urgent need for some household essentials and personal care items for our clients at the Safehouse. By the next day, almost all of the items on our Amazon list had been purchased, with many already arriving (see photo below from Friday)! We are so grateful for our generous and caring community!

Last week was an amazing and busy one for our Prevention and Outreach Program! Our team took part in Marymount University's bilingual health fair, facilitated sessions at Swanson Middle School and Aurora House, and more.

Understanding guns and domestic violence 

"Access to firearms radically increases lethality risk in situations of domestic abuse. Abusers with firearms are five times more likely to kill their partners. Every month an average of seventy women are shot and killed by an intimate partner in the United States. More than half of all intimate partner homicides involve a firearm and firearms are frequently used by perpetrators of intimate partner violence to injure and threaten victims and survivors."
