[link removed] [[link removed]] Earlier this month, House Republican Leadership sent out a memo to its members. The message? Skip your town halls and ignore your voters.
That’s just wrong. It’s not at all what public service is about.
At a moment when costs are rising and your Social Security benefits are being threatened by shady corporate interests, National Republicans should have the guts to defend their votes to the American people. Instead, they’re playing hide and seek with their constituents.
Listen, I’ve never shied away from listening to the voters of Kansas. That’s why I just held a virtual town hall last week, where I spelled out what’s at stake for Kansas families and detailed exactly what I’m doing to make sure everyone’s voices are heard in Washington.
On the other hand, these extreme politicians are refusing to hold town halls because they know what they’re doing is wrong. They know that selling out our country to Elon Musk, stripping away affordable health care for millions, taking away access to Social Security benefits, and giving a giant tax break to billionaires isn’t what their constituents want. So they’re pretending like they don’t even exist.
Listen, Kansans are rightfully angry. I’ve heard from so many folks who feel like their government hasn’t worked for them for a long, long time. And yes, I’ve had tough conversations with Democrats and Republicans about the road ahead. Because being a Member of Congress means being accountable to your boss: The American people.
While National Republicans refuse to listen to Kansas families, I’m working day and night to make sure our district’s voices are heard loud and clear — but I can’t keep up this work alone. So please, chip in today to help me and my team continue to speak out and fight back against the GOP’s reckless agenda.
