We’re nearing Sine Die at the State Capitol!

As we await the final gavel, we wanted to share an update on the key bills we've been tracking and ask for your help on two key remaining bills.

✅ DEI bills, House Bill 1193 ([link removed]) , sponsored by Rep. Joey Hood, and previously SB 2515, sponsored by Sen. Nicole Boyd, is currently in conference. We appreciate both sponsors leading the fight to remove DEI policies from our schools, colleges, and universities. We are supporting language that does not create a special class for sexual orientation/gender identity under our civil rights laws. Conferees are Reps. Hood, Yates, and Fondren and Sens. Boyd, DeLano, and McCaughn.

Please kindly call your lawmaker in support of HB 1193 with this crucial language.

✅ House Bill 1308 ([link removed]) , sponsored by Rep. Jansen Owen, which would create a crime for the sexual grooming of children, is currently in conference. Conferees are Sens. Filligane, DeBar, and McCaughn and Reps. Horan, Owen, and Hail.

Kindly call your lawmaker in support for this bill.

✅ House Bill 599 ([link removed]) , sponsored by Rep. Price Wallace, is currently on its way to the Governor after the House concurred with the Senate changes! It would add civil liabilities for child sexual exploitation, distribution of child pornography, and other obscene matters by commercial entities.Thank you Rep. Wallace, the House, and the Senate for protecting Mississippi children.

✅ House Bill 188 ([link removed]) , sponsored by Rep. Gene Newman, has been signed by Gov. Tate Reeves. This will ([link removed]) protect the safety, privacy, and dignity of women in correctional facilities. Thank you Rep. Newman, the House and the Senate, and Governor Tate Reeves.
