 Hi, it’s Janelle. Before you click away — I’m not reaching out to ask you for a contribution! I just wanted to write with a few reflections on the town halls I held last week in Oregon. First off: If you came to one of my town halls, thank you! I loved seeing familiar and unfamiliar faces. It’s always a privilege to meet all of you and discuss what’s on your mind. Whether it’s talking about Social Security, housing, job creation, healthcare, the cost of living, education, delivering for the next generation, stopping DOGE, or more, I always want to know what you’re thinking about. It’s the best way I can serve you and families across Oregon. In this truly unprecedented moment in American history, I’ll continue to say this: Hold your elected officials accountable. Hold me accountable. Your elected representatives — from local government officials all the way up to the President of the United States — are elected to represent your interests. Not their own. And with a wannabe King and an unelected billionaire seizing control of the country, there’s never been a more important time to boldly, loudly hold them accountable. Fighting back against Trump and Elon Musk’s power grabs will take a village. So show up to town halls. Call your representatives. Organize within your local community. I’ll do my part to defend our democracy and protect our country. And it’s heartening to know — as I saw during last week’s town halls — so many of you are doing your part, too. More soon, Janelle |
