Friend, Trump and Elon Musk’s illegal slashing of critical functions of our government has moved into unconscionable territory.
The decision to dismantle the Department of Education, a core institution of public schooling that has made quality education accessible for millions of students, shows that this is not about ‘government efficiency.’ It’s about cutting public services so they can afford more tax cuts for billionaires.
Let’s consider who this really impacts. The young people who won’t be able to afford to go to college anymore, the teachers who will have less resources to do their job, the students who won’t be afforded the civil rights protections they need because of this move.
And if Trump and Musk are not stopped by Congress or the courts, everything could be on the chopping block.
Trump is letting the richest man in the world wreak havoc on our government to make them both even richer. It’s time to fight for our futures, not lay down and do nothing.
That’s why I plan to use my vote in the Senate to vote No on Trump’s future judicial and agency nominees while he defies the law and our nation’s constitution. My question for you is: Will you have my back as I make this important push?
