Did you know March is Women’s History Month?

It’s a time to celebrate fearless women who break barriers and inspire change. At Special Olympics, our Chief Inspiration Officer, Loretta Claiborne, is a true trailblazer—proving how the power of sport can transform lives and open doors.

A once-in-a-generation, multi-sport athlete, Loretta has paved the way for so many others with intellectual disabilities (ID). Born partially blind with severe physical limitations, she found Special Olympics as a teenager—and through sport, she found her voice.
