Prominent black voices are calling on Joe Biden to rise to the occasion of the current crisis -- and pick an African-American woman for vice president.
NAACP President Derrick Johnson indicated the move would be necessary to protect Americans of color, saying, "We understand that the current political landscape must change, not only for democracy to survive, but for protection of the African-American community." Right now, Kamala Harris and Stacey Abrams are the top African-American names in contention, although the work Elizabeth Warren has done within the black community has earned her several mentions as well.
