Dear Ward 8 Residents,

I am happy to announce that the residents of Ward 8 have spoken and re-elected me for a 2nd term as Ward 8 Councilmember. I am humbled by the vast number of residents that came out to vote, some waiting patiently for over 3 hours at polling centers.

I want to send my appreciation and respect to the candidates that ran in this race. They are brave and sacrificed so much, putting their lives on hold for the betterment of this community. It shows great character and I look forward to meeting with each person in the future to find ways to move this community forward.

I am proud and honored to continue to serve the residents of Ward 8. Please continue to be proactive at following the health recommendations from city officials as it relates to the coronavirus. Thank you for re-electing me to be your representative. Don't just stand there, do something!
Regards,

Trayon White, Sr.
Councilmember, Ward 8

The Senior Meal Delivery will end Friday, June 5th.

This has been a major undertaking and we appreciate all the hard work and participation from our community volunteers, Anacostia BID, Team Rubicon, Martha's Table, DSLBD, and World Central Kitchen for making this possible.

We have been delivering meals since the second week of March. By Friday, we would have delivered 41,000 meals to seniors in Ward 8.

Volunteers, please be on the lookout for future correspondence from our office. We appreciate your service.
