In five days,

Pakistan will begin massive forced deportations, sending 60 Afghan human rights defenders straight into the hands of the Taliban . They’ve already endured imprisonment and torture for standing up for women's rights, democracy, and freedom . If they cross the border, they could be murdered . Only massive international pressure can stop this tragedy. Sign to demand that Pakistan halt these deadly expulsions.

Dear friends,

In five days,

60 brave human rights defenders in Pakistan could be deported to Afghanistan, where they face prison, torture, or even death.

They have raised their voices for women’s rights, democracy, and freedom, and theTaliban want to silence them forever.
But this is where we come in. With a massive global outcry, we can push Pakistan to stop these high-risk deportations. The government has backed down before under international pressure , and together, we can make it happen again.
Sign this petition and we'll work with allies on the ground and in the media to take our call directly to key decision makers in Pakistan and Western governments that once promised a better future to Afghans.

For decades, Pakistan has been a refuge for Afghans, but now deportations are escalating. The coming wave of expulsions will be devastating,

especially for those who dared to fight for human rights. The UN has already documented hundreds of extrajudicial killings by the Taliban—sending these activists back is almost certainly a death sentence.
Time is running out. Massive raids are happening every day in Islamabad, and these activists are in hiding. Afghan arrests are taking place as you read these lines, and deportations could happen within hours. If enough of us sign now, we can help save their lives.

Our movement has never stayed silent in the face of injustice. From exposing war crimes to defending refugees, we have come together time and again to fight for those in danger. Today, we have a chance to do it again—to demand protection for these brave Afghan activists before they are sent to their deaths. Let’s stand up for them before time runs out.

With hope and determination,
Miguel, Lily, Nate, Antonia, Joana and the whole Avaaz team
