One of the Wyoming Game and Fish Department’s largest native fish restoration projects is giving two native species a chance to sustain their populations in southwest Wyoming. The project spanned 52.5 miles of river above the Big Sandy Reservoir, provides benefits for some more common sportfish and was made possible by a lot of work and cooperation among Game and Fish, landowners and partners.

Watercraft transported across states must be inspected for AIS
Beginning this month, Game and Fish will be resuming seasonal operations for aquatic invasive species (AIS) check stations across Wyoming. These mandatory inspections help ensure watercraft are not bringing invasive species of mussels into the state’s waterways.

Flaming Gorge fishery: Public meetings set for March and April
Fisheries biologists from the Wyoming Game and Fish Department and the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources will share updates on the Flaming Gorge fishery and work plans for 2025 at upcoming public meetings.
