John,
Today marks five years since disgraced governor Andrew Cuomo ignored CDC guidelines and issued the order that sent thousands of New Yorkers to their deaths in nursing homes.
Over the weekend, I was honored to join some of the grieving families at the COVID-19 Memorial Wall. Alongside the Arbeeny family, the Newman family, Voices for Seniors, Cuomo COVID Orphans, and many other New Yorkers still grieving, we honored and remembered the lives that were lost.

This is not about partisan politics, but it is about accountability, John.
Five years after his disastrous decision, Andrew Cuomo STILL hasn’t apologized to the thousands of families whose loved ones died in New York nursing homes during the dark days of the pandemic.
Instead, he’s running for mayor to rebuild his political career and further his “redemption narrative.” These families deserve better. And so does New York City.
John, it’s not too much to ask Andrew Cuomo to answer for undercounting nursing home deaths to protect his $5 million book deal.
It’s not too much to ask Andrew Cuomo to meet with families, look them in the eye, and apologize.
It’s not too much to ask Andrew Cuomo to reflect and learn.
The last thing New Yorkers need right now is a mayor they can’t trust to protect them – whose failed management has let New Yorkers down in so many ways.
Andrew lied. People died. It’s up to us to build a broad, diverse coalition across all five boroughs to defeat him and deliver a safer, more affordable, and better-run city for all New Yorkers.
In solidarity,
Brad
P.S. For years, the Arbeeny family has led a battle for justice and accountability. Watch Peter and Daniel Arbeeny speak with me [[link removed]] about why they are still demanding a simple apology from Andrew Cuomo five years later.
