When we launched this campaign in December 2024 in the wake of Vice President Harris’ heartwrenching loss to Donald Trump, we only had one goal in mind: fight back.

I wasn’t sure what that would look like, but I knew first that we had to assemble a top-notch team of creative political operators and happy Democratic warriors (a rare commodity in these times), people who would set a target and execute the strategy to achieve it with the stubbornness of a bull dog.

So we set an ambitious target: raise so much money in the shortened timeframe that was set by Gov. Ron DeSantis deliberately to sabotage us that MAGA would be caught off guard assuming that they would cruise to an easy non-contested victory. 

We did just that: MAGA thought they were safe here, that they had it in the bag, and that weak-willed Democrats were going to give up before even trying—and we shocked them and the entire political world when news broke that we took the lead in early voting on Saturday and surpassed our opponent 10-1 in fundraising.

But we have spent everything on making this breakthrough and utilizing it to remain competitive in this red district. Now that we are on the other side, we are at risk of having nothing left to capitalize on this push and consolidate our gains. 

We don’t want to be the dog that caught the bus—we need to be ready for the most critical phase of this audacious plan to beat MAGA on their own turf and at their own game.
