According to nonpartisan election experts at Cook, this district is “the most promising pick-up opportunity for Democrats” in the state – and Christina is emerging as one of the strongest Democratic challengers in the state.

As a reminder, Trump only carried CA-40 by two points last November – a smaller margin than California’s overall rightward shift between 2020 and 2024. It’s one of the most college-educated districts still held by a Republican, making it a prime battleground for Democrats.
