Leadership isn’t about attacking those who are working hard to succeed. It’s about lifting people up and making sure they have the resources to thrive.
That’s why last week – when Donald Trump singled out Baltimore students to try to justify his senseless plot to dismantle the Department of Education – I was frustrated.
You see: The President is the type of person who seems to gain strength from stomping on others. And that’s the opposite of what a true leader should be doing.
In Maryland, my administration is fighting every day to make sure students, educators, and schools have the support they need to succeed. That includes making record investments in K-12 education and working to close the teacher shortage gap. But we need your help.
