Hi John. At this point, you’ve probably heard about the notorious Signal group chat where Donald Trump Administration officials invited a reporter from the Atlantic and then discussed confidential military plans on the unsecured app.

This is a serious breach of our national security and represents an inexcusable amount of carelessness from the very officials who are supposed to be keeping us safe.

But there is also something in the logs that is specifically relevant to us in California that we had to share. Take a look:

This whole situation is so absurd, we have to laugh. But it has actually never been more clear that Donald Trump has appointed an administration of reckless and unserious people. And this could put people at risk.

That’s why we need to have a branch of government that stands up and puts a “check” on this type of behavior.

Unfortunately, Speaker Mike Johnson has said this was a simple “mistake” and it’s OK because the White House promised it wouldn’t happen again.

We need real leadership in the U.S. House to hold this type of irresponsibility accountable. And it is true that any push to retake the U.S. House will come down to vulnerable blue seats and flippable red seats here in California.
