Every week we are seeing the Administration take unthinkable actions and unfortunately this week is no exception.
I never thought I’d have to type this but… our top intelligence and military officials shouldn’t be discussing war plans over a signal thread. And they definitely shouldn’t invite a reporter.
How in the world does something like this happen? It happens when unqualified and irresponsible politicians are put in charge of our country’s most sensitive responsibilities. It happens when political loyalty is valued more than experience.
It’s not just that the rest of the world is laughing at us right now. It’s that our adversaries will use this breach against us and our families will be less safe because of it.
I’m disgusted. I’m angry. And I’m livid that the only reason we even know about this breach of protocol, was because they mistakenly added a reporter to their thread.
This is where Congress is supposed to step in. We should be calling J.D. Vance and Pete Hegseth to testify about what they knew and when. And yet outside of today’s pre-scheduled Senate Intel hearing (what timing!) Congressional Republicans are going to look the other way.
John, we need to take back the House so we can have proper oversight and hold the Trump administration accountable for egregious behavior like this.
