United States: In a surprising turn of events, President Donald Trump revealed that a national security advisor’s staff member accidentally added Jeffrey Goldberg, the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, to a private Signal group chat. This chat was reportedly used by senior Trump administration officials to coordinate an attack on Houthi militants in Yemen.
Trump confirmed the incident during a phone interview with NBC, clarifying that the mistake had no effect on the military operation. According to reports from Fox News, Goldberg’s number was saved by a staffer in National Security Advisor Mike Waltz’s office, leading to the accidental inclusion.
Goldberg later wrote about the incident, describing how he was added to a Signal chat named “Houthi PC Small Group” on March 11. Among the participants were key figures like Waltz, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Vice President JD Vance.
