When the governor eagerly holds your ferret, how else would you start out your newsletter?

We were so pleased to have Governor Mark Gordon join us at our State Parks and Cultural Resources Conference banquet. Please note how Shep is holding Governor Gordon's finger - he was right at home being a gubernatorial ferret!

We hosted the State Parks & Cultural Resources conference in Lander last week! This was a community-wide event with so much involvement from a great committee and epic town.

Tuesday night staff were hosted for a Maven Optics tour! The conference room then held The Houlihan Narratives where 65 members of the public and 20 staff heard from six local storytellers on the subject of Connection.

It's no secret that Lander has the best coffee shop and bakery scene in Wyoming. With six coffee shops in a town of 7,500 - we like our coffee.

We were able to showcase this with our coffee breaks. Thanks to Superintendent Jessica Moore for spearheading the effort of fueling our colleagues with the best coffee and sweets! Lander Bakeshop, Turquoise Buffalo Coffee, Lander Coffee Co, Lincoln Street Bakery, Lander Bread Share, Sinks Coffee, and Friends of South Pass all donated to our breaks.

Staff voted and named their favorite coffee as.... Lander Coffee Co!

We hosted field trips all around town! Thanks to Lander Art Center for guiding folks through clay. Fifteen colleagues made their way behind the scenes of the Pioneer Museum. Brave souls climbed with Wind River Climbing Guides on the sunnyside while others caved down below. Folks snowshoed, hiked, learned about wild horses, and scavenger hunted their way around downtown Lander!

Spring is in the air! Birds are chirping and egg hunts are on the calendar. Victorians would've been using dandelions to dye eggs at Fort Bridger. Don't believe me? Attend the Lion's Club egg hunt to see how egg dying would have worked 130+ years ago!  fort bridger easter Eggs are a really cool adaptation if you think about it. Why are some eggs brightly colored and others camouflaged? How come some are pointy and others round? Fish, reptiles, and birds (and even a rogue mammal) lay eggs. Engage with eggs and more at Bear River State Park's annual egg hunt! Bear River egg hunt What Ranger Angelina is most excited for - pixel art Ranger Katie and I are planning all kinds of great women's programs on the west side of the state - continuing on our Wyoming Wildflower Women series! We'll be hosting a number of day programs and hikes, followed by a few campouts later in the summer... maybe headed to Park County even. Applications for Becoming an Outdoors Woman with WGFD close the 31st, so apply now [ [link removed] ]!
