This may be hard to believe.

Despite thousands of Virginians urging Governor Youngkin to codify access to contraception – he decided to GUT the legislation instead.

This move comes after Lieutenant Governor Winsome Earle-Sears (who is now running for Governor herself), alongside VA Senate Republicans, worked desperately to BLOCK this legislation from progressing in the legislature. It passed the Senate by only a vote of 21-18 after a subsequent vote was called.

We are horrified that protecting something as simple as access to birth control is seen as a divisive issue to Republicans. As Earle-Sears has said, she just “couldn’t resist” voting against this legislation, which makes it abundantly clear where she will fall on protecting abortion on the off chance that she wins in November.

But there’s a silver lining: We have the power to vote extremist, anti-choice legislators OUT this fall. Help us prepare to protect all reproductive freedom, including access to contraception, by pitching in $25 or more today. ([link removed])
