We just out-raised Republican incumbent William Timmons over the last filing period. That's the first time a Democrat has out-raised a Republican in SC-4 in nearly 30 years.
I could not be more proud of what we have accomplished together, and this brings us one major step closer to winning in November and sending a Democrat to Washington to represent South Carolina's 4th District.
That's great news, but here's what I'm even more excited about: In individual contributions, we out-raised him by more than 9 to 1. Real people, not PACs, are what is fueling this campaign.
Here's the thing: we can't stop now. William Timmons knows that we out-raised him, and he is going to ramp up his fundraising to try to keep up.
