As a doctor, I was trained to take every mistake seriously — because lives depend on it. That’s why what I’m about to share with you should alarm every American, regardless of party.
Senior Trump Administration officials accidentally texted a journalist our war plans. The quote from the journalist says it all:
“I had very strong doubts that this text group was real, because I could not believe that the national-security leadership of the United States would communicate on Signal about imminent war plans.”
This wasn’t just a slip-up. It was a staggering breach of classified information — sent through an unsecured Signal group chat that included an individual who never should have had access.
This is the kind of recklessness that puts American servicemembers at risk.
And yet — the Republican-controlled House refuses to investigate. Speaker Mike Johnson called it an “inadvertent” mistake, then said the Trump administration would “handle it internally.” That’s it.
No subpoenas. No oversight. No accountability.
Let me be clear: if Democrats held the majority, we would already be investigating. We would demand answers. And we would take action to prevent this from ever happening again. But we need your help to make that possible.
This is bigger than politics. It’s about basic competence and our national security.
Thank you for standing with me in this fight.
Be well,
Dr. Ami Bera
