I want to take a moment to share some good news that you may have missed, John. Last month, after pressure from lawmakers and the public, the Trump administration reinstated a USDA federal scholarship program that benefits students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) studying agriculture and related fields.
This victory is a testament to the power of advocacy and collective action. As a former history teacher and a proud HBCU graduate, I will always fight to make America’s greatness accessible to everyone -- starting with ensuring that every student, regardless of background, has access to a quality education that prepares them to succeed.
We have tough days ahead, but we also have the power to shape the future. Let’s stay engaged, stay vocal, and continue fighting for an America that works for all of us.
Thank you,
Jim
