PFAW Member,

A week of national protests and people like you speaking out in response to the murder of George Floyd has resulted in the long overdue arrests of the remaining three officers involved in his death. While hundreds of thousands protest across the nation, the Floyd family is one step closer to justice.

But there is still a long way to go. The memories of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and the countless others whose lives have been lost at the hands of anti-black police violence must inspire and drive us to action as a nation – and the Department of Justice must play a central role.

Add your name now to demand that the U.S. Department of Justice investigate police departments in Minneapolis, Louisville, and other cities whose police departments have been involved in racist police violence against Black people>>

While the trial process plays out for the officers involved in George Floyd’s death, the Justice Department must do its job by leading a much-needed federal response, in the form of investigations into the police departments across the country that have served as a barrier to justice and accountability for anti-Black police violence.

It’s the DOJ’s job to conduct true oversight and demand accountability from state and local police departments. The DOJ must also conduct federal civil rights investigations, investigate, and sue law enforcement agencies as needed to ensure constitutional policing.

However, Attorney General William Barr seems more interested in helping Trump mobilize the military and police to commit violence against protesters and clamp down on our First Amendment rights!

Please add your name now to demand that the DOJ put its focus where it should be: investigating the killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and others>>

The most recent cases of anti-Black police violence are shining a spotlight on policing practices in communities across the country, and we know there are countless other incidences that don’t receive this level of attention and sadly go largely unnoticed. These victims deserve justice and we call upon the DOJ to ensure they receive it.

While we continue marching in the streets and calling attention to racism and hate, let’s keep fighting to ensure that the federal government is doing its part.

Sign the petition today and urge the DOJ to open investigations into police departments that have demonstrated anti-Black police violence in their communities>>

In solidarity,

– PFAW

Radical Right extremists are trying to turn back the clock on a century of advances in civil rights, women’s rights, workers’ rights, the social safety net and more… With Donald Trump in the White House, they’re waging an all-out assault on the fundamental pillars of our country – democracy, checks and balances, a fair and independent judicial branch, and core values like fairness, equality, and justice for all.

PFAW is fighting back every day with:

✔ Grassroots organizing
✔ Lobbying and advocacy
✔ Research and education
✔ Voter mobilization
✔ And more…

But we can’t do this vital work without the robust grassroots financial support of our members and activists.

Please help fund the fight for progress and stand against right-wing extremism with an urgently needed donation to PFAW today>>
