Pete Hegseth shared information critical to the safety of American troops over an unsecured channel with someone uncleared to receive it.
He put American troops in danger. He can’t guarantee that his communications haven’t been intercepted by Russia or China. He is running military policy out of a group chat! And he’s lying about it to the media and trying to avoid accountability.

Pete Hegseth should never have been tapped for this job in the first place. Every single day he is running the Pentagon, he is making our country less safe.
During his confirmation hearings, I said that Pete Hegseth was the most unqualified nominee to be Secretary of Defense in the history of the United States.
He’s a Fox News host whose main qualification for the job was a willingness to put Trump’s ego ahead of the wellbeing of our servicemembers and our national security.
We’re now seeing the consequences of elevating someone like this to a role as important as Secretary of Defense.
