More than a decade ago, we uncovered damning evidence about how the Department of Veterans Affairs was worsening the opioid overdose crisis, and we had an idea: What if we took the powerful work the Center of Investigative Reporting was already doing and turned it into a weekly radio show ([link removed]) with the potential to change laws and change lives?

We had our doubts whether any public radio stations would even air it.

It’s probably no surprise to you what happened next: Reveal’s VA investigation sparked outrage. Radio stations did want to run our work. Our episodes have featured investigations ranging from water shortages in drought-prone California ([link removed]) to labor abuses in the Dominican Republic ([link removed]) . Over 10 years of Reveal, people were vindicated, legislation was introduced, laws were changed, and misinformation was combated.
