Taxpayer, I just wated to reach out and say thank you. I thought you might be interested in what we were able to accomplish in May because you stepped up when we asked for your help.
We never want to see you go.

Taxpayer — Censorship is un-American.

There. I said it. Now we’re DOING something about it:

The DOJ wastes your money ($120,000 in taxes!) to stab, shoot, burn, and dismember live victims…and they don’t want you to know about it.

Well, thanks to you, our new lawsuit is going to finally hold them accountable! (I’ve pasted some of your awesome media coverage below, too).

Taxpayer, you give generously to WCW because we're the ONLY group that fights against taxpayer-funded animal testing... and wins.

And I’m REALLY grateful because you just helped us hit May’s fundraising goal. THANK YOU!

Your donation isn’t just helping us take the fight to the DOJ. It’s also helping us pass Delilah’s Law to end the government’s shopping spree in Chinese wet markets.

And Taxpayer, your donation is ALSO helping us save the “Richmond 66”…

You see, WCW attempted to run ads exposing painful heart attack and treadmill experiments on 66 beagle puppies trapped at a U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs dog lab in Richmond, Virginia.

Our advertising was censored. So we sued on your behalf… and won! Big time:

MORE PROGRESS Taxpayer:  a federal judge just ruled in your favor!

Thanks to your amazing partnership, we’ve already closed 75% of the VA’s dog labs, driving federal government dog testing to its lowest-ever level. Onward to 100%!

We’ve been asking for your support. A lot of it. I know …

But there’s a good reason why: it’s working.

DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE SUED FOR WITHHOLDING INFORMATION ABOUT STABBING, SHOOTING, AND BURNING ANIMALS FOR MEDICAL TRAINING

Watchdog group White Coat Waste Project is taking legal action after the government agency failed to provide documents related to its live tissue training.

by NICOLE AXWORTHY

Taxpayer watchdog group White Coat Waste Project (WCWP) recently filed a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit against the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) for withholding documents related to its stabbing, shooting, and burning of live pigs, goats, and dogs in medical training drills.

Last year, a WCWP investigation revealed that the Federal Bureau of Investigation and US Marshals Service, which are both housed under the DOJ, spent $120,000 on contracts for live tissue training—even though more efficient and cost-effective human simulators are available to teach emergency medical skills.

House Judiciary Committee member Representative Ted Lieu (D-CA) and Vice Chair of the DOJ’s funding panel Representative Matt Cartwright (D-PA) joined the effort and sent a strongly-worded letter to the DOJ expressing their concern. “The use of animals for this training is expensive, obsolete, unnecessary, and opposed by most Americans,” the letter said.

In October 2019, WCWP filed a Freedom of Information Act request for public records relating to the agency’s live tissue training—including paid invoices, training guides, and non-disclosure agreements the agency is legally obligated to disclose to taxpayers. The lawsuit was filed after the DOJ failed to meet its legal obligation and provide the documents.

“The Department of Justice’s wasteful and outdated live tissue training exercises are straight out of a horror movie. It’s no wonder the DOJ is trying to hide the details of how it’s stabbing, shooting, and burning live animals at taxpayers’ expense,” Arin Greenwood, Communications Director for WCWP, told VegNews. “We filed this lawsuit because taxpayers have a right to know how our money is being spent so we can hold the DOJ accountable for forcing Americans to pay for this sick taxpayer-funded animal torture.”

To stop taxpayer-funded animal tests, we must first stop the $20 billion+ in wasteful government spending.

We find, expose, and de-fund wasteful government spending on animal experiments. To change public policy, we unite liberty lovers and animal lovers with hard-hitting investigations and public policy campaigns.
