ANDROSCOGGIN & YORK COUNTIES - The Maine Department of Transportation is working to upgrade crosswalk landings, sidewalk ramps, and make curb improvements in Auburn, Lewiston, and Sanford. The new ramps are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The locations are as follows:

Auburn: Mt. Auburn Ave. at Center Street.

Lewiston: Veterans Memorial Bridge at Main St., Russell at College St., Russell at Bardwell St., North Bardwell at Central Ave., Russell at Lafayette St., and Russell at East Ave to Sabattus St.

Sanford: Haig St. (Rt. 202) at East Ave. to Sabattus Street.

Work will begin on Tuesday, April 15th and is scheduled to be finished in June of this year. This work will involve sidewalk and lane closures. The contractor on this project is Coastal Road Repair of Westbrook. The contract amount is approximately $597,721.00
