Due to the coronavirus pandemic’s devastating effects on our economy, 1 in 4 working Americans are now either unemployed or have given up looking for a job.

Over the last two months, we’ve had twice as many people put out of work than during the entirety of the Great Recession.

Something must be done NOW. That’s why Sean is co-sponsoring the Paycheck Guarantee Act to get businesses and employees the relief they need as quickly as possible!

The Paycheck Guarantee Act would: 1) End mass layoffs by covering 100% of wages for workers earning salaries up to $100,000 2) Keep workers enrolled in employer-sponsored benefits, including health care 3) Encourage employers to rehire recently laid-off or furloughed workers by covering payroll retroactively to the start of the crisis 4) Cover essential business expenses like rent, to prevent businesses from being forced to close permanently

This bill would take necessary action to rescue our economy and protect the public health by making sure that people can follow stay-at-home orders without worrying about their financial security.
