Jasmine Crockett, Chuck Schumer Admit They Only Care About Hurting Trump, Not Passing Legislation

What is the purpose of an elected representative? Is it to target a single person or help the people they represent? If they are not doing the job the people elected them to do, it may be time for new leadership. Townhall: In a shocking admission, Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) revealed her true priorities, stating that she has little interest in passing legislation and is focused solely on taking down President Donald Trump. Her blatant disregard for productive governance highlights the growing trend among some Democrats, prioritizing partisan attacks over meaningful policy work that could actually benefit the American people. It’s a clear indication that, for some, political vendettas are more important than delivering results for their constituents. In a recent interview, the “squad” member acknowledged that she could claim to focus on passing legislation but argued that it would be futile, as she believes Trump would never sign it into law. Instead, Crockett said she needs to preserve basic rights and focus on returning to some of the “norms” she claims Trump has taken away… Crockett is not the only Democrat who admits that the party’s goal is to make it difficult for Trump rather than drafting legislation to help the U.S. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) stated that the Democrats’ goal is to wreak havoc on Trump’s approval ratings in order to hinder the president’s ability to advance his agenda (Townhall).

Rep. Jasmine Crockett Calls for Senator Ted Cruz to Be Assaulted
How is this not incitement? Fox News: Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, said in a new interview that Democrats need to drop their Mr. Nice Guy routine and start to “punch” in their races against Republicans. Crockett was blunt when asked how Democrats can win elections specifically in the red state of Texas, reflecting on Rep. Colin Allred’s, D-Texas, loss to Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, in November. “I think you punch,” Crockett said in an interview when asked how Democrats turn things around. “I think you’re OK with punching” (Fox News). Andy Ngo: Texas Democrat congresswoman Rep. Jasmine Crockett urges for Texas Sen. Ted Cruz to be physically assaulted. She says whoever assaults him needs to target his head (X).

Hyundai Announces $20 Billion Investment in the United States
CNBC: South Korean conglomerate Hyundai on Monday announced a roughly $21 billion investment in U.S. onshoring that includes a $5.8 billion steel plant in Louisiana. The plant is set to hire more than 1,400 employees and will produce next-generation steel that will be used by Hyundai’s two U.S. auto plants to manufacture electric vehicles. The investment was announced Monday at the White House by President Donald Trump, Hyundai Chairman Euisun Chung and Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry. Hyundai’s announcement comes as major international conglomerates are racing to dodge tariffs and avoid a trade war ahead of Trump’s April 2 tariff deadline. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. and Japan’s SoftBank are among the major foreign players that have visited the White House in the last two months to announce big U.S. onshoring plans (CNBC). Charlie Kirk: The Trump Effect on Investment Pledges in the US: $ 3 Trillion in new direct investment into America in the first few weeks of the Trump Administration (X).

Trump Looks to Impose Reciprocal Tariffs on Countries
Hill: President Trump on Monday signaled he may provide exemptions for certain countries when his administration imposes reciprocal tariffs on imports next week… Trump has for weeks indicated he would impose reciprocal tariffs beginning April 2 on any nation that has duties on American goods (Hill). Post Millennial: Trump on tariffs: “I may give a lot of countries breaks, but it’s reciprocal, but we might be even nicer than that. You know we’ve been very nice to a lot of countries for a long time. But I call it liberation day. April 2nd is liberation day” (X).

Donald Trump Announces a 25 Percent Trade Tariff on Countries Who Import Oil from Venezuela
National Review: President Donald Trump announced Monday a 25 percent tariff on any trade with nations that purchase oil and gas from Venezuela beginning next month. Trump justified the tariff as a response to Venezuela sending members of the violent Tren de Aragua gang to the U.S. Trump has argued that the gang, which was designated a foreign terrorist organization, has made inroads into the U.S. with the help of the Venezuelan government… Venezuelan oil exports surged 10.5 percent last year, in part because of the Biden administration’s license to Chevron to resume exports from the country beginning in 2023 (National Review). Power the Future Executive Daniel Turner: Under President Trump, countries that purchase oil from Venezuela will pay a 25% tariff. Under Joe Biden, the United States begged Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro for oil. What a difference a few months makes (X). Donald Trump: Therefore, any Country that purchases Oil and/or Gas from Venezuela will be forced to pay a Tariff of 25% to the United States on any Trade they do with our Country. All documentation will be signed and registered, and the Tariff will take place on April 2nd, 2025 (Truth).

Senator Exposes Biden’s Vast Censorship Network
Fox News: Ahead of a key Senate hearing on Tuesday to examine the Biden administration’s work with outside entities to censor Americans, Chairman Eric Schmitt, R-Mo., blasted the former president’s “sprawling network of federal agencies and NGOs” reportedly used to limit speech and posts that were “disfavored.” “The Biden Administration created a vast censorship enterprise, comprised of a sprawling network of federal agencies and NGOs that have been working overtime to censor Americans’ speech. From special reporting portals to the White House press secretary admitting at the podium that they were flagging posts to be taken down, the level of coordination to subvert the First Amendment and remove disfavored speech was beyond what most imagined,” the Missouri senator said (Fox News). Eric Schmitt: All of this is completely unprecedented. It’s an entirely new, sprawling system of speech and thought control—far more powerful and far-reaching than anything we’ve seen the past, built with and for the new technology of the digital age. And most of it operates in the shadows (X).

Kamala Harris Emerges as Early Frontrunner for Democrats’ 2028 Presidential Ticket
Is Kamala Harris going to be the new Hillary Clinton? Just when you think she is done for good, she always pops back up. Townhall: Yes, it is still very early, but if the results of a recent poll looking at which Democratic politician Democratic voters prefer for 2028 is any indication, they still have not learned their lesson. A plurality of Democratic voters would support former Vice President Kamala Harris if the 2028 presidential primaries were held today, according to a Morning Consult poll (Townhall). Morning Consult: The 2024 Democratic nominee is backed by 36% of Democratic and Democratic-leaning independent voters who could vote in the party’s primary in 2028, a nice starting base of support should she run this time for the Democratic nod. Harris is followed by former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg (at 10%), who said last week that he will not seek statewide office in Michigan in 2028 (Morning Consult).

Congressman Riley Moore (R-WV) Introduces Bill Expanding Childcare Options
Daily Wire: New legislation from Congressman Riley Moore of West Virginia would significantly increase funding for low-income and working-class families to cover childcare costs. This child care support could include paying a parent to stay at home or paying another relative to care for a child — a major discussion point among social conservatives who argue in favor of promoting the family unit, rather than merely offering childcare options outside the home. “For decades, conservatives have rallied around being pro-life, but far too often, the policy framework that came with it lacked strong, substantive ideas to reduce the burden on American families,” Moore said. “Being pro-life means being pro-family, and with this legislation, we’re empowering families to choose what works best for them.” The Respect Parents’ Childcare Choices Act would significantly increase authorized funding for the Child Care Development Block Grant through which state governments disburse via vouchers to low-income and working-class families to help cover childcare costs. Moore’s office says the bill would reform the Child Care Development Block Grant “so this program better aligns with the needs and wants of families.” While the block grant technically allows families to use its vouchers to pay relatives to care for their children, few parents have done so because of the burdensome regulations involved. The bill would clear some of these hurdles out of their way (Daily Wire).

Trump to Pardon Former Business Partner of Hunter Biden
New York Post: Hunter Biden’s beleaguered former business partner, Devon Archer, will receive a full and unconditional pardon. The president promised Archer the pardon when they met at the NCAA wrestling championships in Philadelphia Saturday night, an encounter arranged by another former Hunter Biden associate-turned-whistleblower, Tony Bobulinski. “He’s getting a full pardon,” Trump told me Sunday. “He was screwed by the Bidens. They destroyed him like they tried to destroy a lot of people” (New York Post). National Review: Archer testified before the House Oversight Committee in summer 2023 for the congressional GOP’s investigation into Joe Biden’s role in his son Hunter’s foreign business dealings. A key witness, Archer worked with Hunter Biden on the board of Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings and investment firm Rosemont Seneca Partners… Most notably, Archer recalled Joe Biden’s presence at two business dinners, the first with Russian oligarch Elena Baturina in 2014 and the second with Burisma executive Vadim Pozharskyi in 2015. Archer also estimated that Hunter Biden put his father on speakerphone with his business partners 20 times over the course of their business dealings. Archer’s testimony played a pivotal role in the House GOP’s impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden role in his son’s foreign business dealings and IRS whistleblower allegations of misconduct during the Hunter Biden tax investigation. The high-profile inquiry uncovered $27 million of payments from foreign sources to Hunter Biden and his business associates during and after his father’s vice presidency, mostly from Ukraine, China, and Romania (National Review).

Christian Witness Returns to Silicon Valley
Vanity Fair: It’s mid-October in San Francisco, and a crowd of 200 or so congregants—some seated in pews, others standing below cathedral windows at the back—bow their heads in prayer. Over cranberry-apple cosmos and plates of Burmese food served by black-shirted waiters, a DJ plays a thumping soundtrack of remixed worship music. This is not a church service or even a Bible study. It is, instead, an entirely new kind of event in Silicon Valley. We are here to listen in on a conversation between Dr. Francis S. Collins, the former director of the National Institutes of Health and leader of the Human Genome Project, and Garry Tan, the president and CEO of Silicon Valley’s influential start-up incubator Y Combinator, which has hatched thousands of tech companies with a combined valuation of more than $600 billion. The event is called Code & Cosmos, and its underlying thesis is that the fields of science and technology, once considered diametrically opposed to religion and spirituality, might converge with the teachings of the Bible. In other words, business networking for the spiritually curious… Of course there have always been Christians in Silicon Valley; they just knew better than to advertise their faith. This is to say: The Christians were effectively in hiding. And one specific place they were hiding was, according to Tan, on a spreadsheet made up of Christians in tech, which was passed around for years among a dozen or so of the techno faithful. One of them was Trae Stephens, cofounder of the defense tech company Anduril and a partner at Founders Fund, the venture capital firm cofounded by Peter Thiel. Stephens, like Tan, has lately been speaking publicly about his faith in the context of Silicon Valley. He has hosted a Bible study reflecting on the teachings of René Girard, a French philosopher popular in certain libertarian-leaning tech circles; spoken at his church about the connection between Christianity and innovation; and written, in what seems a slightly contorted interpretation of the gospel, about how basic venture investing principles are an exemplar of divine forgiveness… You don’t need to do much guesswork to see why smart Christians in Silicon Valley are growing more emboldened. After all, there are billionaires among their ranks. One of them is Peter Thiel, who has spoken about his evangelical leanings for more than a decade and who has lately shared his views on his faith with increasing frequency (Vanity Fair).
