By any measure the last few days, Bernie Sanders and AOC’s record-smashing
“Fighting Oligarchy” rallies – including rallies in Republican districts –
have to put them toward the top of the list of Democrats fighting with
backbone.
The Denver Post: Bernie Sanders, AOC rally crowd of 30,000 in Denver’s
Civic Center
The Hill: Sanders, Ocasio-Cortez rail against Trump policies at Tucson
rally
The Guardian: Bernie Sanders, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and the courage to
brawl for the working class
To bigger crowds even than when he ran for president, Bernie is calling
out growing wealth inequality and the influence billionaires – especially
Elon Musk – have on the Trump administration.
To roars of approval from the enormous crowds, AOC speaks of the need to
tax the rich, for guaranteed healthcare, and to pass a living wage.

Senator Bernie Sanders and AOC’s campaigns so word spreads in Congress
that boldness gets noticed – and rewarded!
The importance of these rallies goes beyond the visuals of big crowds.
Bernie and AOC are building “muscle memory” for what may be ahead of us.
As Senator Chris Murphy told Jon Stewart on The Daily Show last week,
there may come a time in the near future where the threat from the Trump
administration is so grave, Americans will need to take to the streets,
"not with hundreds, not with thousands, or tens of thousands of people,
but with hundreds of thousands of people."
At these big rallies, people aren't just hearing Bernie and AOC. They are
looking around and seeing that they are with 15,000 like-minded people. In
the future, when everything may hinge on their willingness to be out in
the streets, they will know they won’t be alone.
Check out these crowds:
[ [link removed] ]AOC on Bluesky 'Tucson, Arizona today. Original projected attendance
was 3,000 people. 23,000 showed up.'
[ [link removed] ]AOC on BlueSky: 'We expected 2,000 people out in GOP-held Greeley,
Colorado. 11,000 people showed up. Something special is happening, folks.
Now is the time to organize in every dimension possible and get to work.'
[ [link removed] ]AOC on Bluesky: 'Tonight an unbelievable **34,000 people** gathered for
our Denver rally to take on billionaires and win our country back. This
was the largest political gathering in Denver since Obama in 2008. Also
bigger than the 2024 DNC. And the largest ever rally in Bernie’s career
(and obviously, mine too).'
