Mike for Renton Phonebank!

This Thursday, March 27, 7pm-8pm

RSVP here

Mike Westgaard is running for Renton City Council on a pro-working class agenda and he needs OUR HELP! Come phonebank DSA members for Mike's campaign to ask them to volunteer at the Kick-off Canvass and donate.

Mike is a proud union shop steward and longtime Seattle DSA member. His campaign envisions connecting our chapter to the organized labor movement and the working class struggle in South King County. Mike is a champion for housing and transit for all, ending the war on drugs, and defending Raise the Wage Renton! Mike is running as a democratic socialist in a grassroots campaign against a Chamber of Commerce backed establishment incumbent. To win, he will need the people power of DSA!

Chip in $20, $50, or $100 to elect a fighter for working people!

First time phonebankers are welcome! We will provide training before the phonebank.

Immigrant community members and workers are under attack by the Trump administration’s draconian continuation of the pro-Big Business, xenophobic status quo!

You can help protect the rights of our undocumented community members. Join our network of DSA members training to accompany individuals to their immigration appointments and rapidly respond to ICE raids. The more people we have in our network, the better!

Come on by Beacon Cinema this Friday for a screening of Jean-Luc Godard’s 1967 classic La Chinoise, sponsored by the Puget Sound Chapter of the Independent Labor Club (ILC)!

La Chinoise (drama / comedy) depicts a small group of French student radicals who are studying Mao, trying to find their position in the world and how to change it, only things go wrong!

The ILC is a project which aims to strengthen proletarian solidarity through social events and building bonds of friendship and community that go beyond the usual scope of unions and activist movements. This will be Puget Sound ILC’s first public get-together and we would love to see you there!
