John, someone asked me recently, “What song do you listen to to hype yourself up?” It was honestly a great question, one that I don’t get asked too often.

Right now? It has to be “Freedom” by Beyoncé and Kendrick Lamar. I love the energy she brings to every song, but the lyrics in this one in particular gives me what I need as I walk into Congress to fight for the people of IL-14.

I’ll be honest, John — it’s really easy to feel defeated these days. But the people of IL-14 sent me to Washington to fight for them, and just like Bey says, I’ma keep running ‘cause a winner don’t quit on themselves.

I’ma keep running to stand up to the wrecking ball that the GOP is taking to the things that working people rely on. I’ma keep running to protect reproductive freedom for everyone. And I’ma keep running to safeguard Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security from billionaires trying to defund these critical programs.
