First, President Trump nominated Dr. Mehmet Oz — former talk show host,
Republican U.S. Senate candidate, and major supporter/investor in Medicare
Advantage plans (worse quality plans run by for-profit insurers that
overcharge our government) — to oversee the Centers for Medicare and
Medicaid Services (CMS).

Then, news broke that Oz and the Trump administration plan to make
Medicare Advantage the default option for Medicare recipients.

Advantage plans are killing seniors and bankrupting hospitals. Now the
Trump administration is preparing to make them mandatory, ending Medicare
as we know it.

Now, the Senate Finance Committee is voting on advancing Dr. Oz’s
nomination TOMORROW.

your senators and urge them to vote NO on Oz for CMS Administrator! If the
office is closed for the day, please leave a voicemail. And if you’ve
already called, call again — all the more pressure to stop Oz!

Hi, my name is _______. I am a constituent and I’m a nurse/other health
care worker/patient/community supporter/_____. I’m calling today to urge
you to vote no on the nomination of Dr. Mehmet Oz as Administrator of the
Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The CMS Administrator must
have a strong and respected track record in health care – Dr. Oz does not.
Throughout his career, Dr. Oz has consistently advocated for the complete
privatization of Medicare, which would unravel this critical health
program. In addition, Dr. Oz has serious conflicts of interest due to his
financial ties with private health insurance companies, and he has
repeatedly promoted unscientific claims and unfounded conspiracy theories
as medical advice. If confirmed, Dr. Mehmet Oz would put the health and
safety of millions of patients and health care workers at risk. I urge you
to vote no on his nomination.

The more calls we generate to the Senate today, the more likely we are to
stop Oz from being confirmed. We need your help to take action to stop Dr.
Oz’s nomination and to stop CMS from forcing patients to rely on the
private, for-profit insurers that run Medicare Advantage.
