Israel is continuing to expand its ground operations in Gaza while eliminating senior Hamas terrorists across the enclave.
Last night, the IDF

eliminated senior Hamas member Ismail Barhoum inside the Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis in southern Gaza. The IDF engaged in "an extensive intelligence-gathering process" before carrying out the strike and used a "precision munition" to minimize civilian harm.
"The Hamas terrorist organization exploits civilian infrastructure while brutally endangering the Gazan population. The cynical use of an active hospital as a shelter for the planning and executing of murderous terrorist attacks is in direct violation of international law," the IDF said following the strike, which was one of dozens that took place last night and early this morning.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said that Israel would continue to expand operations against Hamas in Gaza until all the hostages are released, and the IDF has redeployed additional troops to the Gaza area in preparation.
Meanwhile, Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), another Iranian-backed terrorist group that participated in the October 7 attack, claimed credit for launching rockets from Gaza into Israel today, demonstrating the serious threat that Gaza-based terrorists still pose to Israel.
59 hostages, including 5 American citizens, remain in Hamas' captivity in Gaza. The United States must stand with our ally Israel and work to increase the pressure on Hamas and its sponsors in Qatar, Turkey and Iran to release all the hostages.

Terror attack in northern Israel kills Israeli senior
An 86-year-old Israeli man was

killed and a 20-year-old IDF soldier seriously wounded in a terrorist attack in northern Israel today.
The terrorist rammed a bus stop before exiting the vehicle and stabbing the soldier. He then stole the soldier's rifle and opened fire on a passing car, killing 86-year-old Moshe Horn, a father of four and a grandfather to 10.
The terrorist was quickly shot and killed by Israeli security forces.
U.S. officials reaffirm that Iran can never have a nuclear weapon
In an interview this weekend, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth reaffirmed the United States' commitment that Iran will never be allowed to possess a nuclear weapon:
"[Trump] has said very clearly, as you stated, unambiguously, Iran will not get a nuclear bomb under a Trump administration. Unacceptable. Full stop. Very clear... There's a clear message that Iran cannot get a nuclear bomb, and we are prepared to enforce it, but we would much prefer that it be done at the table for the betterment of the Iranian people and for the betterment of peace. We hope that's a possibility, but we understand the complications."
National Security Advisor Mike Waltz shared the same message, saying:
"Iran has to give up its program in a way that the entire world can see…. As President Trump has said, this is coming to a head. All options are on the table. And it is time for Iran to walk away completely from its desire to have a nuclear weapon. They will not and cannot be allowed to have a nuclear weapons program. That's enrichment, that is weaponization, and that is its strategic missile program... That is completely unacceptable to our national security."
AIPAC thanks the administration for reaffirming its position that Iran must completely give up its nuclear program. The United States must continue to increase the pressure on Iran, including by fully enforcing economic sanctions and establishing a credible threat of military action.
