John: Over the weekend, Donald Trump posted on social media demanding “a full throated apology” from Governor Janet Mills after she stood up to him last month.

Her response? “If the current occupant of the White House wants to protect women and girls, he should start by protecting the women and teenage girls who are suffering miscarriages and dying because they can’t get basic, life-saving health care in states across this country.”

We couldn’t be prouder of Governor Mills for standing up for Maine women and girls. In fact, we believe that the more people that stand up to Trump’s agenda the better!

Trump’s social media post follows a Governor’s lunch last month where Trump threatened to deny Maine federal funding unless we fall in line with his personal demands. Governor Mills told him she’d “See him in court,” because Mainers won’t be bullied.
