Sports change lives. But even today, women and girls with intellectual disabilities (ID) don’t always get the same shot – to compete at the highest levels and become the champions they know they can be. 

Here at Special Olympics, we’re changing that – one athlete and community at a time! In fact, we have a bold goal: We believe we can hit or surpass 50% female participation at an upcoming World Games. That means more incredible women athletes on the field, more role models inspiring the next generation, and more barriers and glass ceilings shattered.
