Houston has a special place in my heart.

I was able to attend the University of Houston for just $50 a semester, and with my degree, I got to live my dream: I became a public school teacher.

But today, that story isn't possible, and that's why I'm in this fight. Young people today are getting crushed by student debt, and getting an education is becoming more and more out of reach for millions of Americans (but we've got a plan for that).

So when I take the debate stage in September in Houston, I'll be thinking about the opportunities I was lucky to have there. We can make real change, but only as a grassroots movement, and that's why I'm grateful you're in this fight.

We're in this together, and I'd love to have you there in Houston.
