For too long, change has been thwarted by the Washington gun lobby and by leaders who refuse to take common-sense steps that will save lives. But Everytown is building a movement that will stand up to the NRA and ensure that we pass common-sense reforms that save lives.
For Gil, this fight is personal. Gil’s grandfather was shot and killed during a grocery store robbery when his mom was only 10 years old. That’s why in 2018, he was proud to run on a strong gun violence prevention platform against and beat an opponent with an A rating from the NRA. And that’s why he is committed to tackling America’s gun violence crisis.

Our fight is as important as it is winnable. Gil has pledged to close the boyfriend loophole, support background checks, fight to ban bump stocks, oppose concealed-carry, and support “red flag” laws to keep guns out of the hands of people who pose a danger to their communities.
