Celebrating Colorado Canada Friendship Day

I celebrated Colorado Canada Friendship Day by raising the Canadian National Flag at the Colorado State Capitol on March 15th, and in the evening, by lighting up the Capitol with the Canadian national colors.

From maple syrup to our Colorado Avalanche players, we in Colorado appreciate our friendship and close ties with Canada. Raising the Canadian flag is symbolic of our friendship, showing that when we work together, even in challenging times, we grow our economy and make the people of both sovereign nations better off.

I am grateful for our friends to the north, and look forward to annually celebrating Colorado Canada Friendship day. I will also be hosting a Colorado Mexico Friendship Day in the coming weeks.

The Colorado Partnership for Proven Initiatives , a new multi-year $20 million philanthropic partnership to improve economic opportunities for Coloradans, starting with expanding students’ access to the support needed to thrive in the classroom and workforce, helping more Coloradans build brighter futures.

As a state, we continue investing in talent development initiatives so all Coloradans can access good-paying jobs and employers can find the skilled workers needed to grow and thrive.

Call for Artists - Colorado 150 Pedestrian Walkway

In partnership with the Office of Economic Development and International Trade’s Colorado Creative Industries, I opened up submissions for local artists to integrate their work in the Colorado 150th Pedestrian Walkway. Artists should submit their work by April 1st, 2025.
- Up to 20 artists or artist teams will be selected to create projects depicting or celebrating one of Colorado's historical narratives.
- The ideal completion for the walkway will be August 2026. The artist selection process will be complete by June 1st, and we expect to begin the design process in the Summer of 2025. The Colorado 150 Pedestrian Walkway will serve as a new gateway into revitalized Downtown Denver. The initiative aims to tell the story of Colorado’s 150 years while further re-energizing and highlighting the Civic Center area.
