Hi John,
We are strongest when we stand together. It is through community, solidarity, and love that we get free. On Monday, March 31, Trans Day of Visibility, we invite you, our queer, trans, and allied family, to come together in celebration and steadfast resistance alongside our beloved trans community to build a world where we can all thrive.
Our trans elders seeded in us the courage and defiance that has propelled our present-day LGBTQ+ movement. As we take the actions that will shape our futures, we must hold tight to our history. From Compton’s Cafeteria to the Stonewall Uprising, trans leaders have loved boldly and fought fiercely. Their rallying cry—a refusal to let oppression, hate, nor systems of power dampen the flame of their pride in who they are, and who we can be together—has resounded throughout our movement.
Join us for a powerful webinar, organized by a growing nationwide coalition* of LBGTQ+ movement organizations, featuring powerful trans leaders and their allies across generations. They will ground us in the work before us, connect us with one another, and uplift steps we can all take to build a world that is for all of us.
WHAT: Building Power and Solidarity Across Generations
WHEN: Monday, March 31 4pm PT, 6pm CT, 7pm ET
WHERE: Virtual: RSVP here
The current administration is targeting trans people while also attacking migrant, Black, and Muslim communities. By systematically restricting our access to healthcare and jobs, and attempting to vilify and criminalize our existence, they aim to divide us by race, place, and identity so as to better control us.
Yet, we hold freedom inside of us. We understand the ecstasy in being our true selves and the power in celebrating one another. Just as our trans elders helped us understand that our liberation is undeniably interwoven with all other oppressed people and identities, we hold the vision of a world where we are all seen, loved, and respected.
LGBTQ+ people have been up against seemingly insurmountable challenges before and we have only grown in strength and visibility. This Trans Day of Visibility, we are strengthening our muscles for coordinating resistance by standing together to defend and uplift beloved trans community. Let us choose one another and together, illuminate a path towards liberation that future generations will be proud to carry forth.
In resistance, in solidarity, and in love—we hope you will join us at Building Power and Solidarity Across Generations on Monday March 31 at 4pm PT/5pm MT/6pm CT/7pm ET. Register here.
