Click here Dear John, Two weeks ago, Against the Grain: The Farm Aid Podcast hosted a panel at the Luck Reunion – a festival held on Farm Aid president Willie Nelson's ranch outside of Austin, Texas. There we spoke with chefs who told us how their work with local farmers builds what Farm Aid calls The Good Food Movement. Hear from: BJ Smith of Smokehouse Restaurant Group in Portland, Oregon; Amarys Koenig Herndon and Jordan Herndon of Palm and Pine in New Orleans; and Brian Light of Ronin Farms and Restaurant in Bryan, Texas. Tune in this Thursday for the second installment in our series Breaking Bread, which brings you stories about the shared history of food and farming, as well as organizing and resistance – all while you eat lunch! This week we'll hear from Sonja Trom Eayrs, author of Dodge County, Incorporated: Big Ag and the Undoing of Rural America. Sonja is also a farmer's daughter, rural advocate and attorney. Farmers and ranchers are busy getting the season off to a good start. Let's show them how much we value their hard work and perseverance. Make a gift today in their honor and we'll send them a special greeting of encouragement for Ag Day, which is a national day that celebrates the work of farmers. Thank you for standing with Farm Aid and our family farmers. And a huge thank you to farmers for the abundance they provide. |
