*Public Review of the SALC 2.0 Gap Analysis Report*

*SALC 2.0 Gap Analysis Report*

In partnership with the San Diego County Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO), the SALC 2.0 project aims to support existing and emerging farmers through timely market research and, in doing so, curb the premature conversion of agricultural lands. As part of this project, the Gap Analysis Report analyzes costs and returns for four focal commodities in San Diego County: avocados, lemons, strawberries, and tomatoes. The results detail net returns across various scenarios for each of the four focal commodities.

The report includes a supplemental tool called the Agricultural Profitability Assessment Tool (AG-PAT) that allows users to adjust costs, yields, and prices. The results show how those changes affect profitability (returns per acre) for an individual farm.

The County of San Diego and LAFCO are requesting feedback on the SALC 2.0 Gap Analysis Report and AG-PAT to inform the project and receive input on whether the results align with their experiences in the local agricultural industry.
