My name is Matt Longabaugh. I am the Field Director for the Josh Weil for Congress campaign. Josh is the Democratic nominee in the Special Election for Florida’s 6th, the first major Congressional Election of 2025. 

Democrats’ taking the lead in early voting this weekend was nothing short of a bolt from the blue. A shocking breakout that neither national democrats or republicans were expecting. 

We are vindicated - a win here is possible. These early voting stats prove it and shatter the narrative of every doubting pundit and analyst out there. In their worldview, this simply isn’t supposed to happen in a district Trump won with 64%. Check the stats out for yourself: 

Most important to note is the Indy/NPA adjustment estimate and the vote surplus it may deliver. Take this with a grain of salt, as we won’t know the actual figure until polls close next Tuesday, but at the doors and on the phones we have found that over 59% of independents support our campaign.

And I have not seen the following number myself but I hear that, unlike national trends, here Republicans overperform by 3x in early voting. If that is true, we should see this lead continue to widen and break open come E Day.

I say should because as of this AM, the Republicans have taken an 84 vote lead in turnout.

If we can afford to pay 200 canvassers knocking from 9-5 every day for us, along with having our ads playing non-stop on TV, I can confidently say we will win this. Presently we do not have the funds for either and there are 8 days until E-Day.

We can’t let this lightning breakthrough go to waste. We need a surge of support in these last eight days before election day. Can you dig deep and rush $50, $25, or even $5 so we can put to work immediately towards helping us retake the lead?
