The current liberal majority on the Wisconsin Supreme Court has protected free and fair elections and voting rights in the state. As in every battleground state, election laws in Wisconsin could decide the next congressional and presidential elections — it's a big reason why Musk wants to flip the court to conservative control and steal this seat from the people.
Musk also has personal interests in this race. Musk’s Tesla sued the state of Wisconsin earlier this year in an effort to expand its corporate reach and consolidate control over the EV market — and the case could end up at the WI Supreme Court.
Musk wants to buy influence everywhere he can, including on the highest court in Wisconsin, so that he can grow his power AND his $400 billion fortune.
