Trump blames "radical left governor" for "truly the worst portrait" hanging in state Capitol building
The wannabe dictator has decided to offer us a brief respite from his incessant avalanche of monstrously evil bullshit by giving us the opportunity to laugh at his gnawing insecurity and also an extremely funny painting. "Nobody likes a bad picture or painting of themselves, but the one in Colorado, in the State Capitol, put up by the Governor, along with all other Presidents, was purposefully distorted to a level that even I, perhaps, have never seen before!" raged Trump on Truth Social. "The artist also did President Obama, and he looks wonderful, but the one on me is truly the worst. She must have lost her talent as she got older." The MAGA cult leader would go on to somehow blame Colorado Gov. Jared Polis for the painting, because in Trump's conspiracy-addled brain everything is a nefarious scheme to bring him down, especially, um, paintings being hung up in the Colorado State Capitol. But to be a little fair, the artist really did Donald dirty!

Trump gets lousy news from Canada's new leader
Canada's new prime minister, Mark Carney, announced snap elections for April in a bullish sign of confidence, as his ruling Liberal Party has surged in popularity since Donald Trump launched his incredibly bone-headed tariff war. Just a few months ago liberals north of the border found themselves polling some 20 points behind conservatives after ten years of former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's leadership. Canada was ripe for a conservative rebound — something Trump and Republicans would obviously welcome — but the MAGA cult leader could not get out of his own way and managed to turn Canada — CANADA — against United States with a reductive, pointless tax war. Remarkable stuff from a truly stable genius.

Deb Haaland vows to protect us from Trump and his billionaire allies
Deb Haaland for Governor: Deb Haaland has fiercely fought for justice and delivered results for working people throughout her life, be it as an organizer, from the halls of Congress, or as Secretary of the Department of the Interior. She will always refuse to sit idly by while Trump and his un-elected billionaire allies unleash chaos across the country and give polluters free rein to destroy our pristine wilderness. We can help Deb fight back against Trump by electing her to the governor’s office in New Mexico. Will you chip in to help this fierce public servant answer the call to service once again?
Trump targets lawyers who he says file "frivolous" lawsuits against his administration
The MAGA cult leader and man of several thousand lawsuits broke the definition of the word "irony" with his latest, downright autocratic move, authorizing his attorney general and Homeland Security secretary to sanction law firms that file lawsuits they deem "frivolous." The presidential memorandum, "Preventing Abuses of the Legal System and the Federal Court," also ordered Attorney General Pam Bondi to recommend revoking attorneys’ security clearances or terminating law firms' federal contracts if she deems their lawsuits against the administration "unreasonable" or "vexatious." Steve Bannon spelled out in plainspeak the wannabe dictator's true aim: to bankrupt any law firm the administration perceives as an enemy. In other words, fascism.

IRS nears deal with ICE to share data of undocumented immigrants
And the hits keep coming. The Internal Revenue Service is reportedly nearing a truly awful deal to let immigration officials use tax data to facilitate the MAGA cult leader's draconian deportation crusade. Under the proposed data-sharing agreement, said to have been in negotiations for weeks, Immigration And Customs Enforcement (ICE) could hand over the names and addresses of undocumented immigrants to the IRS, raising alarming concerns about abuse of power from the Trump administration and the further erosion of privacy rights. The IRS would then cross-reference names of undocumented immigrants with their confidential taxpayer databases and provide ICE with sensitive information to be used in subsequent mass deportation drives. Aside from the obliteration of privacy rights, this latest fascistic scheme is also a great way to force millions of taxpayers off the books and into the dark, depriving the US Treasury of who-knows-how-many billions of future tax dollars. Bang up stuff, really.

Rep. Ro Khanna says AOC would have "a lot of support" from fellow Democrats to take on Schumer
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer would face one of his party’s biggest rising stars in a primary for the ages next year, if one California Democrat has anything to say about it. Ro Khanna, a member of the party’s progressive wing, told CNN’s Dana Bash on Sunday that he’d like to see Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez face Schumer in a primary election for his Senate seat next year after the Senate Democratic leader (and nine other members of his caucus) abruptly backed down at the 11th hour and helped the GOP pass abysmal legislation to keep the federal government funded through 2025 after weeks of assurances he would do no such thing. Judging by the crowds AOC is drawing at recent rallies, Khanna just might be on to something.

Angry voters yell at "empty chair" town halls as Republicans chicken out
Angry voters flocked to "empty chair" town halls around the country this weekend to vent their frustration with Republican lawmakers who are refusing to face their constituents. Facing a growing public backlash over Trump and Elon Musk's abominable attacks on the federal government write large, Republican leaders have advised their caucuses to simply ditch town halls altogether. In their absence, local activists held packed events in red states and districts during the congressional recess that ended Sunday. Lawmakers were invited but didn't attend, leaving participants to rage in absentia against their representatives for their unflinching support of the Trump administration. A classic case of FAFO.
JD Vance warns that Denmark has not been a "good ally" amid Greenland takeover talk
Donald's trusty #2 took to the Fox News airwaves on Sunday to chastise — checks notes — Denmark for apparently "not doing its job" and "not being a good ally." Vance claimed that, due to national security threats stemming from Russia and China's access to "sea lanes" in the region, the United States really only has one option: to take "more territorial interest in Greenland." Ah, yes. Territorial interest. Kinda like when a toddler takes a "territorial interest" in her cousin's cookies! "Here’s the thing which I think a lot of folks don’t appreciate about Greenland," Vance mansplained. "It’s really important to our national security." The vice president stressed that Trump would take the island if necessary, adding, "he doesn't care about what the Europeans scream at us; he cares about putting the interests of American citizens first." Ok, sure, so that sounds a lot like the rhetoric coming out of the Kremlin regarding Ukraine, but it's, like, totally different. Because America.
